almost lose touch by btrsweet says "i had almost forgotten the flavour of your lips." Poems of brevity are almost always intensely inspired. The moment is so powerful and so full it must spill words onto a page. This poem is one of those, beautiful, succinct and straight to the point, "now that you have returned come here and hold me." selected by jsenn

[almost lose touch]

i had almost forgotten
the flavour of your lips
after speaking through a telephone
for over a month
i was almost un-used-to
your knocking at my heart's door
after being deprived of you
for over a month
now that you have returned
come here and hold me
.

Nice job, short, sweet, and to the point, just like the short jolt of the emotion that shocks you.

The words clashing together convey the true entropy yet brevity of the work. Such emotion is not always a slow occurence that one has ample time to gaze upon. Poetry is the art of expression... emotion in words... abstract to concrete.

I'm only saying this because I disagree with toxic on some of his statements. Sure, this isn't the best poem, but it is quite a good work indeed. :) (Smile)
